Uses of pointed chisels and flat chisels
2024-07-09 10:12:03

Pointed chisels and flat chisels each have their specific uses.

Pointed chisels are primarily used for precise striking and breaking. They can be directly placed on the rock to be broken, enhancing the accuracy of the strike. They are suitable for geological sampling, rock breaking, and other situations requiring precise striking. Additionally, pointed chisels are also used for manual cutting and joint matching, especially in woodworking tasks such as mortise and tenon, dovetail joints, where pointed chisels can accurately handle detailed parts.

Flat chisels, on the other hand, are more suitable for smoothing surfaces or removing small wood chips. Their blades are finer and longer, making them suitable for large-area leveling work. Flat chisels are structurally sturdy and can be used for any task, including but not limited to cutting steel plates, concrete, and other chiseling operations. In construction and civil engineering, flat chisels are commonly used for cutting thin iron plates, breaking concrete, and removing welding splatter.

These chisels, due to their different head designs, cater to various work needs, from delicate manual woodworking to heavy construction work, each having its specific application scenarios.
